Her work centers on <strong><span data-url=\"ca:\/\/s?q=Explore_Black_history_preservation\">Black history<\/span><\/strong> and preservation, with extensive research on museums, historic homes, and historic sites nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Jada\u2019s academic foundation is as distinguished as her professional work. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from Bethune\u2011Cookman University, a master\u2019s degree in urban &amp; Regional Planning from Michigan State University where she is the first African American graduate of Michigan State University\u2019s Museum Studies program. In 2015 she earned her second master\u2019s degree in museum studies from Johns Hopkins University, and her final degree is from Jackson State University where she earned a master\u2019s degree in history.\u00a0 Jada is the author of <em>Florida\u2019s Historic African American Homes<\/em>, the first book dedicated to documenting historic Black homes across Florida. Her decade\u2011long research includes in\u2011depth study of the Malcolm X Homesite in Lansing, Michigan, including oral history collection with Yvonne Little, Malcolm X\u2019s sister.<\/p>\n<p>Jada has curated several exhibitions throughout her career, most <em>recently <strong>A Journey Through 115 Years of Timeless Service &amp; Sisterhood: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated<\/strong>,<\/em> presented at the Tampa Bay History Center in 2023 \u2014 a landmark exhibition celebrating legacy, leadership, and cultural impact.<\/p>\n<p>As the inaugural Executive Director of the largest ASALH branch, Jada has helped raise nearly $1 million to support Black history, programming, and institutional sustainability. She has been profiled by <em>The Root<\/em> as one of \u201c8 Hot Causes for Black Philanthropists\u201d and honored as one of Michigan\u2019s Phenomenal Women. Her work has appeared on platforms such as Speak Art Loud, Black Gives Back, Black Girl Nerds, Black Southern Belle, and Museum 2.0, and she has contributed to the <em>Huffington Post<\/em>, <em>Florida Times\u2011Union<\/em>, and <em>Sarasota Herald\u2011Tribune<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Jada has delivered lectures and keynotes across the country\u2014including at Harvard University Extension School, Howard University, Johns Hopkins University, and Bethune\u2011Cookman University\u2014and has been featured on radio and television discussing Florida\u2019s Black history. Her awards include the Golden Honors Vanguard Award (2025), Bethune\u2011Cookman University\u2019s 40 Under 40, and recognition as a National Arts Strategies Leadership Fellow.<\/p>\n<p>As founder of <strong><span data-url=\"ca:\/\/s?q=Tell_me_more_about_Heritage_Salon\">Heritage Salon<\/span><\/strong>, Jada continues to innovate within the museum field, creating platforms that connect professionals and communities to the rich legacy of Black museums, historic sites, historic homes, and Black history in an effort to sustain our institutions.<\/p>\n<p>With over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and museum sectors\u2014including executive leadership, program management, operations, and fundraising\u2014Jada brings dynamic, visionary leadership.
